Useful Tips for Resume Writing

Resume Writing is a critical job. You need to consider a few things before writing a resume. Try to organize your resume in five different sections. First of all mention your name, address, phone number, e-mail address in the header section. The next section should include your job objectives. Next you should give your job experience and job description. This should be followed by your educational details. Finally you should give your extra curricular activities, hobbies, etc.

Here are some of the basic tips that you should follow. Make sure that there are no grammatical mistakes or spelling mistakes. There should not be any typographical error. If you are not confident enough show your CV to someone else to find out the silly mistakes. You can also read it out loud. If it doesn"t sound good then you need to make necessary changes.

Make sure to use quality paper. Leave one inch margin in all sides means right, left, top and bottom. Don"t use any stylish font. Arial or Times New Romans will do. The size should be minimum 10 point. You can write your name (only your name) in a larger font size. Don"t use any color. Use black fonts against white background. Your resume should look professional.

A professional resume should not include any abbreviations. The names of your school or previous companies should not be written in any abbreviated form. For example if you have completed your masters from University of California you should not write something like UC. Mention the full name of your university. Otherwise it will create a negative impact on the employers mind.

Resume writing is more difficult than you think. People usually tend to think that the more they talk about their past experience the more their chance of getting the job increases. But this is absolutely wrong. Your employer doesn"t have the time to go through the details. So make your past experience brief and relevant. For example if you are applying for the post of content writer include experience that is related to this field. You might have worked as a model for some time. But including that experience is not at all important here.

Never refer to your personal website in your resume. If may have written something on global warming in your blog. But your employer has got nothing to do with it. So don"t include any URL in your resume until it serves as your online portfolio. If your website contains letters of reference or your previous presentations you can surely include in your resume.

With the perfect resume you are sure to find a job that suits you.
