Most Jobs Are Given To the Best Interviewer
That"s why interviews are so important, because if the human resource managers were only going to hire the best candidate based on his or her resumes, then they wouldn"t need to interview anyone at all. But you cannot forget about the human factor, or else the HR manager could be replaced with a computer. The interview is the time for them to see if the candidate is likeable, and if they believe they will fit into the company atmosphere, and this can only be assessed through the interview process. My fiancée who is a realtor always tells me that people want to be around people like themselves, and nowhere is this more true than in a work environment where you will spend eight hours a day working closely with each other. And the smaller the company, the more important it is to have a culture fit.
Knowing that most jobs are given to the best interviewer only reinforces what I always say, that every candidate should prepare and practice before each and every interview. Practice speaking in a calm and friendly voice, make good eye contact, have a firm handshake, and dress appropriately. Most importantly, be friendly and be likeable
