So it's Tacky; but is it Illegal?

What if you were caught texting, or "sexting" as it"s sometimes referred to these days, your wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend using your employer issued BlackBerry, iPhone or computer?  Is there an expectation of privacy or do employers have a right to monitor how their electronics are being used?  A California court decided on the side of the employee recently.  But it"s not over yet, says A. Job Seekers - Do Not Underestimate Your Abilities!

Invariably, the average job seeker tends to underestimate or omit essential skills, elements, and achievements in their career. These omissions often categorize and render their resume as an ordinary, "run-of-the-mill" career synopsis.

A perceptive employer can quickly ascertain if a candidate"s resume is appealing, well structured, and, reflects a career trend of progressive growth and accomplishments. An ordinary resume does not inspire a hiring manager nor present the job seeker as the caliber of candidate employers want to interview and hire!

Your interview potential is influenced by the content of your resume!

An employer or recruiter is not interested, nor motivated by the words - "responsibilities" or "accountabilities". These words have no place in a resume, nor, do they impress the discerning reader. The recruiter may promptly curtail their 15-20 second glance of your resume if encountered.

An appealing resume should reflect the job seeker"s achievements and creativity that helped propel a successful company to become even more successful! In-lieu of "responsibilities" or "accountabilities", the job seeker should incorporate "action keywords" such as - managed, coordinated, planned, developed, created, etc., to demonstrate one"s accomplishments, creativity, innovation, and recognition.

It"s Time to Revisit Your Resume

Bear in mind, the purpose of your resume is to "showcase" why you are the candidate of choice! Take a deep, methodical, and introspective look into your career. Encapsulate your noteworthy achievements and milestones. It"s imperative that "no stones are left unturned"!

Based upon the above pointers, review and update your resume. By doing so, you unleash your full potential with an impressive resume that broadcasts your marketability, differentiation, and superior qualifications to an inspired interviewer!
