EXPLOSIVE TRUTHS ABOUT HUMAN RESOURCES INTERVIEWS PART I
.*Your overall look. Are you wearing the proper business attire that they require? Although some companies allow you to wear casual attire on Saturday interviews or if their office environment does not call for office fashion, HR personnel look at the creases of your shirt. Is it ironed? Is it stained? Did you comb your hair? Did you brush your teeth? The explosive truth? Is your face clean? If your face has a lot of pimples and acne, you lose points for the "pleasing personality" qualification. It means you are stressed. The HR personnel will look beyond that in your interview and find out.
*Your body language. Do you scratch your head often? Do you bite fingernails? Do you tap your foot impatiently? Often times the things that you do unconsciously give them hints on your personality. Know about these body languages that make them excited on disqualifying you. (Did you know that HR personnels hate interviewing unqualified applicants? They often wait for you to make that mistake that gives them reason not to accept you.)
*Essays. If you think HR personnel only look at the concept of your essay answer and how intelligently and eloquently explain your stand on a particular issue, think again. The first thing they will look at is the overall image of your essay answer. The line width, spaces between words and characters, and even the slant of your handwriting tells them a lot about you. Are you a pessimist or optimist? Are you dreading something in the future? What is your political view? Does it contain many erasures? The explosive truth? Did you borrow a pen from them? If you did, they might as well trash it because it tells them that you are unprepared for the interview.
*Your pastime. What you do outside your work means a lot to them. Do you keep yourself informed? Are you creative? Are you patient? Are you lazy?
*The handshake. Feel the HR"s hand. Is it shy? If it is, then he or she is probably not too excited to meet you. Is it firm? If it is, then the HR personnel is as enthusiastic as you are.
