However, promotion in the government sector is more on the basis of seniority rather than merit.

 

India being a comparatively low-cost country where labor is available at a much cheaper rate, outsourcing in the country has also gained significant momentum. Companies in countries like USA and UK outsource some of their tasks to India. This is because of the fact that it not only help the companies to focus on their core competencies, but also enable them to gain significantly in terms of cost.
